International Women's Day

As it’s International Women’s Day this week, we’re celebrating all the amazing women who are part of the Eden team.

Today we speak to Mapperley branch manager Linda Staples, who joined our team at Eden Tyres & Servicing 10 years ago!

Name: Linda Staples

Position: Branch Manager

Branch: Mapperley

Joined in: 2011

Linda, how long have you worked for Eden Tyres & Servicing?

LS: I have worked here for 10 years, I joined the team back in 2011 as a receptionist and have worked my way up to becoming branch manager.

Why did you choose to work for ETS?

LS: I chose to work here as I have a real interest in the industry. I came to ETS after working for a company in Sutton selling car parts, so I already had some experience in automotive. I originally wanted to become a mechanic myself, but then I had children and my career changed path and I applied to become a receptionist at Eden Tyres.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

LS: I couldn’t choose just one thing- there are loads of things I love about my job. The team here in Mapperley are just like a family, we all get on so well which makes the days so enjoyable. I also love seeing different vehicles coming in every day and the team diagnosing the issue with them; no two days are ever the same. I love seeing our customers and talking to them- it really is so great to be able to create relationships with our loyal customers and to be able to help them out.

What would be your career highlight so far?

LS: It would have to be becoming branch manager. After beginning as a receptionist and moving up to manager- it really was a highlight of my career.

Do you feel that the automotive industry is something that more females should get involved in?

LS: You definitely have to be a certain kind of person to work in the industry and need to be genuinely interested in it. If you are, then you’re on to a winner. However it would be so lovely to see more women in roles within this industry. There’s loads of opportunities and it would be great to have females in both front desk roles as well as in the workshops. I think it would really make more female customers at ease when they come to visit us.
