A tyre for every weather condition
Manufacturers Michelin spent 3 years designing the Michelin Cross Climate to offer the benefits of a Winter tyre in a tyre that could be used all year round. These premium all season tyres are a great alternative to winter tyres for drivers that prefer the simplicity of keeping the same set of tyres on their vehicle for 12 months of the year but don’t want to get stuck if it snows!
Designed to adapt to all weather conditions, the CrossClimate Tyre promises revolutionary performances that keep you safe in every weather condition. Offering the advantages of summer tyres in wet braking, dry braking, longevity & fuel efficiency alongside the advantages of winter tyres in traction and braking for consumers driving in cold and occasionally snowy conditions. In fact, the CrossClimate is the very first summer tyre to be stamped with the snowflake symbol which means it’s officially approved for use in snowy conditions.
Key features include:
· Excellent grip in all weather conditions including snow and ice
· Optimised tread pattern and compound mix for improved fuel consumption
· Made with a unique rubber compound to maximise traction
· The first Summer tyre with a Winter certification
The CrossClimate’s innovative tread design is made with two layers – one on the outer tread and another underneath the surface. This works to minimise any heat transferred through the tyre.
High levels of silica are used in the CrossClimate’s tyre’s compound, as with a winter tyres this ensures that the tyre doesn’t harden in low temperatures allowing for a low rolling resistance and consistent performance in winter conditions.
Michelin have also incorporated V-shaped blocks and self-blocking 3D Sipes into the tyre’s tread pattern, further optimising the level of traction that is provided in both winter and summer conditions.
We recommend that, because of their unique tread pattern and compound, CrossClimate tyres are only fitted in pairs or preferably sets of 4.
The Michelin CrossClimate tyre is available in the Michelin CrossClimate+ for cars, the Michelin CrossClimate SUV for SUV’s and 4×4 vehicles and the Michelin CrossClimate Agilis for vans and commercial vehicles.
