Derby Junior Respect Programme

We’re proud to announce that we’re continuing to sponsor the Derby Junior Football League “Respect Programme” this year! The league is dedicated to making junior football in Derbyshire safe, fair and enjoyable. “Respect” is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in the game to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which every match can take place. We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game. This includes players, parents, spectators, club officials, league officials and FA officials.” Pictured with our Alfreton road branch manager Michael Staley is Tommy Weightman who has been a volunteer for the Derby Junior Football League for the past 13 years and dropped into the Derby branch to show us the new “Respect” vests. The DJFL relies greatly on the generosity of volunteers like Tommy who give both their time and expertise. Tommy works exceptionally hard and was crowned “Volunteer of the Year 2018” by the Derbyshire County FA and is both the treasurer, match day coordinator and pitch allocator for the league.
